One of the largest charities in the UK, Cancer Research UK was founded in 2002 by the merging of The Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and The Cancer Research Campaign (CRC). Since then, they have spent millions of pounds funding research projects and discovered a leading prostate cancer drug.
In 2018, Cancer Research UK received its largest ever single donation from an anonymous donor: £10 million! There are also a vast variety of fundraising events including the Race for Life and Stand Up to Cancer UK. Cancer Research UK were also involved in the UK smoking ban.
